Common questions about getting started
What happens in the first session?
We’ll get to know you, your history, and goals, review consent and policies, answer questions, and map next steps at a pace that feels manageable.
How often do people usually come to therapy?
Many people begin weekly and taper as things stabilize. Frequency depends on your goals, schedule, finances, and the kind of support you need.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. We offer secure telehealth for clients who are physically located in Pennsylvania at the time of the appointment.
Do you accept insurance?
We’re in-network with many major plans and also offer private-pay options. If you’re unsure about coverage, we can help you understand next steps.
Can you help me choose the right therapist?
Yes. If you are unsure which clinician or service is the best fit, tell us what you’re looking for on the appointment form and we’ll help with fit, availability, and next steps.
Do you work with teens and families?
Yes. We work with teens, young adults, adults, couples, and families depending on the concern and the best clinical fit.
Is therapy confidential?
Therapy is private, with limits required by law and ethics such as safety concerns, abuse reporting requirements, or court orders. Your therapist will explain confidentiality at the start of care.
Do you prescribe medication?
No. We do not prescribe medication. If medication might be helpful, we can collaborate with your prescriber or help you connect with a medical provider.
Is the appointment form for emergencies?
No. The appointment form is for non-urgent requests and is not monitored 24/7. If you are in immediate danger or in crisis, call 988, dial 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.
What if I’m not sure therapy is the right next step?
You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Many people start because something feels heavy, stuck, or unsustainable and they want help sorting out what support would be useful.
